Herencia Altés Garnacha Blanca, 2011

Château Graville Lacoste, 2011
A Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend from Graves in Bordeaux. The 2011 is a very light colored straw on the glass. The prevalence of small stones in the soil gives the wine a distinct flinty minerality on the nose, and the citrus fruit on the palate is likewise infused with a bright, crystalline mineral edge. This theme continues on the intense, precise finish. Light bodied and acidic crispiness with a good finish to accompany it.
BTG $8.00 Retail $20.99

La Follette Van der Kamp Sonoma Mountain Pinot Noir, 2008
95% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier
Mulberry, wintergreen and lapsang souchong on the nose lead to a surprisingly voluptuous mid-palate of forest floor, berry basket and brown spices, pine duff and touch of leather in late-palate, cinched by orange bitters. Tannins are a strong backbone throughout with a spectrum of fruit showing raspberry on entry to blackberry on finish.
BTG $12.50 Retail $34.99

Dreyer Merlot, 2009
This Merlot is dry, fruit laden and smooth at its finish. Possessing a great mouth feel and balance, this vintage has a deep garnet color and a rich, silky texture. Farmed from mature grapes, this Merlot possesses greater backbone than what one would expect from the cooler North Coast. The medium level tannins are smoothly integrated, and the fruit shows ripe blueberry and dark cherry notes nicely balanced with the influence of toasted oak aging.
