The grapes for the Max Reserva Carmenére 2009 come from the single vineyards Max II, Max V, and Ocoa blocks of in the Valle de Aconcagua, Beautiful deep purplish-red in color, this wine opens with notes of sweet spice and a bit of chocolate, followed by a layer of black fruit that builds alongside varietal notes that recall black pepper, soy sauce, and roasted red pepper. Flavorful and intense on the palate and notes of smooth tobacco and graphite on the finish. Balanced texture with firm, sweet tannins and refreshing acidity.
