There is evidence of vine cultivation at Château Pesquié that dates to two thousand years ago. The recent discovery of a pottery workshop and wine pottery from the Roman era (30 BC) in the Côtes du Ventoux Appellation confirms that the region is one of the oldest wine producing areas in France. In 2003, Alexandre & Frédéric Chaudière, and their cousin Renaud, took over the Domaine. They are continuing the family tradition to harness the potential of the outstanding Ventoux terroir and to make extraordinary wines. Château Pesquié is now a leading estates in the Appellation of Côtes du Ventoux and the southern Rhone Valley.
Since 1896, five generations of the Martinelli family have worked together producing apples and wine in Sonoma County. All of the Martinelli Estate vineyards are farmed by Lee Martinelli, Sr., and sons Lee, Jr., and George Martinelli. The wines are made by consultant winemaker, Helen Turley, and winemaker, Bryan Kvamme. The fruitful Russian River Valley is filled with Edens for growing Pinot Noir The Bella Vigna Pinot Noir is a select blend of some of these plantings, which were planted to the specifications of Helen Turley and John Wetlaufer.
The Dreyer family has been involved in California agriculture since the 1950’s, and has been making wine since 1980
Oakville Winery was first established in November 1877 as Brun & Chaix, Oakville Winery. It was the 9th bonded winery in California. The “new” Oakville Winery produces wine from the same vineyards and the same location as the founding winery, thus continuing a 132 year old tradition. In a real sense, the name Oakville Winery was chosen for us from the beginning.
