2018 Ovum Wines “Big Salt”

BIG SALT is a white wine that tries to capture a day at the beach in a bottle.  Fresh, dry, breezy – the bright aromas of the wine are met with a dry, almost salty textured palate that’s well-suited for sitting in the sun and hanging with friends.  Sustainable and Organic vineyards throughout Oregon are the building blocks for Big Salt.  Roughly half and half Riesling and Gewürztraminer, with small amounts of Muscat and other grapes. What’s unique is the smorgasbord of AVAs, including grapes from Columbia Gorge, Elkton, Rogue Valley, Illinois Valley and Willamette Valley. Fleshy and nicely textured, floral orange aromas lead into a saline wine with a mix of cucumber, apple and green melon flavors.  91 pts Best Buy Wine Enthusiast

2016 Arianna Occhipinti Frappato

Sicily, Italy

100% Frappato. From 2 different estate parcels with vines averaging about 40 years old.

The 2016 Il Frappato is another surprise hit from a vintage that was not easy generally speaking. This wine is chiseled and focused, showing a pretty mineral note that is carried forth from start to finish. The wine is delicate and finessed with small berry nuances, dried blackberry, cherry and pencil shaving. This is an elegant and graceful red wine from Sicily. 92+ Pts Wine Advocate

2015 Artadi Pasos de San Martin

Navarra, Spain

A plush but sophisticated Garnacha (Grenache) red from the legendary Artadi. This is a red with altitude (6000 feet) so Artadi’s expert touch with powerful, lush fruit is brought to the freshness and defined complexity that comes with elevation. Remarkably floral and crisp for this grape, offering so much vitality and delicacy for a red with over 14 per cent alcohol. That makes it an incredibly food-friendly wine that you can also drink solo. Serious aging potential, too. 94pts James Suckling

2016 Silver Ghost Cabernet

Napa Valley, California

ilver Ghost is a rich, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from some of the finest vineyards in the Napa Valley. The wine is deep in color with aromas of black cherry, blueberry and cassis leaping from the glass. On the palate Silver Ghost reveals layers of red and black fruit intermingled with mocha, toast and savory spice. A sumptuous texture rounds out the long finish. 93 Pts Tasting Panel, 91 Pts Wilford Wong
