2017 Dourum Tons White Blend

Douro Valley, Portugal

This white blend seems to contain nearly every white grape planted in the Douro. It’s the terroir talking here, with a strong minerality, a tight texture.

White blossom notes linger over the crisp peach and lemon-lime flavors of this crisp, pretty white, with spice and mineral details dovetailing on the finish

2017 Gramona Gessami

Penedes, Spain

What strikes many as an usual blend is fairly common in Penedes – aromatic whites made from a blend of “northern” and indigenous varieties. In the case of Gessami, it is a blend of the native Muscat (both Frontignan and d’Alexandrie are grown by Gramona), and the non-native but heat tolerant Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. Well over half of the blend is Sauvignon Blanc, which provides both the body and acidity ,both varieties of Muscat are used in addition to a small proportion of Gewürztraminer to boost the aromatics. Such a floral and alluring wine is fittingly named Gessami, which in English means Jasmine. 4.1 Vivino

2016 Dourum Tons Red Blend

Douro, Portugal

Tons is ruby red in color with violet tones. The nose is dominated by aromas of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and prunes, blending beautifully with spicy secondary aromas from barrel aging. Well-balanced acidity, soft and ripe tannins, and a persistent finish result in an elegant wine. 90 Pts Wine Enthusiast

2015  Volver Tarima Hill Monastrell

Valencia, Spain

This red shows grace and depth. Black cherry, plum, mineral and smoke flavors mingle harmoniously over well-integrated tannins, while lively acidity keeps this focused. Not showy, but all the pieces fit together. Balanced, in the modern style.

2010 Carlos Serres Gran Reserva

Rioja, Spain

85%Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo

Bright red and garnet with a rim turning to brick showing its extended aging in barrel and bottle. Complex aromas from its development and aging, mature ripe black fruit, and vanilla and cinnamon spice, with a deep mineral core. Velvety smooth, harmonious with a fresh finish. 93 Pts Wine Enthusiast
