HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING

Tuesday March 19th 2019

6-9 Pm No charge for Tastings

2017 Librandi Val di Neto White Critone

Calabria, Italy

Chardonnay with Sauvignon Blanc

Fresh and floral, with lime blossom, kiwifruit, peach and blood orange sorbet flavors, this medium-bodied white is backed by vibrant acidity and lingers with spice and graphite accents.  90 Pts Wine Spectator Top 100: 2018, Rank: 81

BTG $7.25   Retail $15.99

2015 ColleMassari Montecucco Rosso Rigoleto ORGANIC

Montecucco, Italy

70% Sangiovese, 15% Ciliegiolo and 15% Montepulciano that sees a minimal part aged in oak barrels. Most of the wine goes into stainless steel tanks instead and is stored at reduced temperatures to lock in that distinct aromatic verve. The wine is redolent of wild cherry and raspberry with light touches of moist earth and toasted nut at the back. 90 Pts James Suckling

BTG $ 7.25     Retail $15.99

2016 Ferzo Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Abruzzo, Italy

Deep purple with ruby reflections, this is Montepulciano d’Abruzzo at its most loveable.  A perfect balance between bright sour cherry and wild berries with hints of pepper and spice, all held together by elegant tannins and palate-cleansing acidity. 91 Pts TC

BTG $8.75 Retail $21.99

2015 Vietti Nebbiolo Langhe Perbacco

Piedmont, Italy

White pepper, cherry, tea, juniper and tobacco flavors dissolve into a swath of tannins that leave a grip on the finish. Though elegant, this feels more like a Barolo in profile and structure. 92 Pts Wine Spectator

BTG $10.75     Retail 27.99

2016 Grattamacco Super Tuscan

Tuscany, Italy

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese

Black currant, black cherry, graphite, cedar and olive flavors are the hallmarks of this red. Though lean and sinewy, this is saturated, leaving a palate-staining finish.

93 Pts Wine Spectator

BTG $14.00 Retail $37.99
