The fruit for this Squealing Pig Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from somewhere you couldn’t find in a taxi vineyards near the Awatere River in Marlborough. Light straw with a subtle grassy green hue. The nose is salivatingly crisp like a summer salad bursting with punchy and intense lemongrass, kaffir lime and herbs. The palate is practically exploding out of the glass it has so much energy weighty, structured and refreshing with layers of green apple. Reflective of the winery’s ability to combine power with elegance, the 2014 vintage of The Investor is rich in dark purple fruit but also captivating for its notes of tea leaf, roasting spices of sage and rosemary with touches of chaparral herbs, cinnamon and clove on the nose. NV Canard Duchene Authentic Brut
Champagne, France
One of Champagne’s hidden treasures, Canard-Duchêne produces a lively style that is fresh and yet satisfying. I have tasted these wines over the last decade and they are very consistent. Medium straw, light yellow in color, steady beads; a triumphant aroma of fresh apples, light yeast and brisk mineral; medium bodied, bright and sassy on the palate; dry, very good acidity, well balanced; bright, tart apple flavors; lively aftertaste. 91 Pts Wilford Wong
Retail $38.99

2017 Comte Jean Marechal Sancerre
Loire Valley , France
This is a quintessential expression of sauvignon blanc from Sancerre. The nose is highly perfumed and intense, with classic notes of cut grass, limes and the tell-tell hint of flint. The palate is more restrained than the nose would initially indicate – and all the better for that – with a lovely fresh, balanced and clean character. The flavors are citrus fruits wrapped around a very precise and elegant structure. A long finish completes this very good wine.
BTG $10.00 Retail $24.99

2017 Casa Del Bosque Carmenere Reserva
Casablanca, Chile
Carménère, originally from Bordeaux is now being cultivated in significant quantities in Chile. Characterized by the presence of spicy notes, Carménère is the last of all our red grapes to ripen. It is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels before release.
Deep red with a garnet hue. Aromas reminiscent of black cherries, plums and dry leaves are complemented with notes of chocolate and spice from the French oak barrels the wine was aged in. This Carmenère is soft and plump, with supple tannins and good length.
BTG $6.75 Retail $13.99

2015 Jamieson Ranch Double Lariat Cabernet
Napa Valley, California
Enticing aromas jump out of the glass with this beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. Notes of black currant, anise, and cedar intrigue the senses. Flavors of cassis, blackberry, and black cherry delight the palate leading to supple tannins that carry through a lengthy finish. The Double Lariat Cabernet is highly elegant yet accessible for any occasion and any connoisseur. 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 1% other red varietals. 90 Pts James Suckling
BTG $12.75 Retail 34.99

2015 Juan Gil Blue Label
Julmila, Spain
Made mostly with very old Monastrell vineyards grapes from old vines grown at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level with very low yields as with the vines of Cabernet-Sauvingon & Syrah to obtain a very concentrated and complex wine and very elegant at the same time after spending 18 months into a careful selection of best French and American oak. Purple/black in colour, it proffers a nose of pain grille, graphite, earth notes, spice box, black fruits, and a hint of balsamic. It opens in the grlass to reveal excellent density, savory flavors, plenty of spice, and a lengthy, pure finis. 92 Pts Wine Advocate
