HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING
Tuesday February 27th 2018
6-9 Pm No charge for Tastings

2014 Château de Beauregard Pouilly-Fuissé
Burgundy, France
The young wines evoke the white fruits (pear, peach…), the white flowers (acacia). The wine is fresh, mineral and balanced with a honey and grapefruit final. Getting older, the aromas become more complex and dense, a little buttery, toasted and dry fruit hints, with still this honey unctuousness. A whiff of oyster shell signals this sleek white, which gathers flavors of lemon, melon and mineral across the palate. The finish is invigorating and sapid. 92 pts Wine Spectator

They have established their domain in the well-known village of Chavignol reputed for its wines (produced from vines grown on steep and well-exposed The aromatic, floral and smoked nature of the Sauvignon grape variety is the most dominant aspect of this charming wine. It displays its elegance, fruitiness and roundness and is very persistent. Enticing, with a core of white peach, lemon curd and gooseberry notes that melds with a light flinty edge on the finish. Shows fine length, with the flint accent lingering.

2015 Raats Red Jasper
Stellenbosch, South Africa
48% Cabernet Franc, 36% Malbec, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot
The 2015 is a true gem: exceptionally intense and complex on the nose with blackberry, black cherry and bramble in abundance and subtle hints of forest floor, dark chocolate, aniseed and spicy tobacco. The walk in the Black Forest continues with blue –and blackberry dancing on a tight rope with focus and concentration, following through onto a perfectly balanced, fine-grained, velvety palate. The finish lingers with hints of fresh mint, cinnamon and perfume. Complex and structured, a true iron fist in a silky glove.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. Generous flavors of blackcurrants, plum, Asian spice, licorice and earth jump from the glass as well as the flavors of this full-bodied, supple-textured, low-acid and fleshy wine.
