It is our pleasure to have Bill Leigon owner of Jamieson Ranch Vineyards with us this Tuesday night.
An innovator and visionary who has been active in the wine industry since the early 1970s, Bill is the founder of Jamieson Ranch Vineyards and is responsible for the creation of their highly recognized “Double Lariat” Napa Valley Cabernet, as well as the driving force behind Reata, Light Horse and Whiplash brands. Prior to Jamieson Ranch Vineyards, Bill was President of Hahn Family Wines for 12 years.

A community activist, vocalist and artist, Bill was a founding director of the Napa Valley Repertory Theatre and has served as president of the Arts Council of Napa Valley and currently serves on the board at Music In The Vineyards.

2016 Reata Chardonnay

Warm buttery straw color draws you in to toasty aromas followed by pear and red apple with cinnamon and clove. On the palate there is a distinct fruitiness followed by rich, savory flavors of Marcona almonds and toasted hazelnut. Crisp and dry with a lingering finish that keeps you wanting more.

2015 Reata Pinot Noir
San Benito , Sonoma County , Monterey County, California
Rich color hints at the boldness of this big Pinot Noir. Warm aromas of toasty oak fill the glass and lead to a well-structured weight on the palate. Densely delicious, earthy flavors mingle with notes of cherry and raspberry while a backdrop of clove and coriander adds complexity. The strong finish lingers on the palate nicely.

2016 Light Horse Cabernet
Intense in both its deep ruby color and dense bouquet, this delectable Cabernet’s aromas of fresh earth, jasmine and magnolia jump out of the glass. Layers of blueberry and raspberry bring fruity notes to the fold and are supported by refreshing acidity which runs through the mid-palate and melts into a long finish. Soft tannins provide a smooth texture, with a touch of oak.

A lovely, dark cherry hue and opens with warm, comforting aromas. A fruit forward wine with dark cherry, fig and mixed berry pie flavors with hints of baking spices such as fresh clove and butterscotch and earthy tones. NV Stratton Lummis “The Riddler” Lot 6
NAPA VALLEY, California
This wine is a blend of Petit Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Tempranillo Charbono, Zinfandel and Petite Verdot. Kind of wacky but the name is the Riddler. It has a lot of blackberry and blueberry fruit, black licorice spice and a peppery note to the nose. Very fruit forward and drinkable style with and exotic spice to the finish, very puzzling and always a crowd pleaser.

2014 Shatter Grenache
Languedoc-Roussillon, France
A collaboration between David Phiney and Joel Gott
Aromas of roasted black fruit with hints of anise, black pepper and vanilla. The wine opens with lush flavors of blueberry and plum, leading to sweet notes of dried fruit on the mid-palate and soft tannins which are nicely balanced by bright acidity. The finish is long and concentrated with well-integrated oak. Using older oak barrels alongside new helps to soften and round out the wine’s natural intensity, accentuating the fruit and spice characteristics.
