HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING

Tuesday May 16th 2017

6-9 Pm No charge for Tastings

2015 Bichot Puilly Fuisse

Burgundy France

This wine features beautiful pale yellow colour with golden highlights. A lively, aromatic nose with predominant notes of white fruit and spices is underpinned by a subtle touch of oak and vanilla. Mineral on the palate with a good balance between acidity and roundness. Lovely length.

BTG $9.50    Retail $23.99

2015 Comte Jean Marechal Sancerre

Loire Valley, France

This is a quintessential expression of sauvignon blanc from sancerre. the nose is highly perfumed and intense, with classic notes of cut grass, limes and the tell-tell hint of flint. The palate is restrained – and all the better for that – with a lovely fresh, balanced and clean character. The flavours are citrus of lemon and lime fruits wrapped around a very precise and elegant structure. Taught and mineral, a long finish completes this very good wine.

BTG $9.00      Retail $22.99

2014 CH Pey La Tour Reserve

Bordeaux, France

88% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot

Intense ruby red in colour, red berry fruits with strawberry notes are unleashed on the lovely bouquet. Fleshy and supple on the attack, the wine develops attractive roundness on the finish, complemented by the fruit purity. 89 Pts Robert Parker

BTG $8.50 Retail $20.99

2014 Bila Haut Occultum

Roussillon, France

Another terrific vintage for this cuvee, the Syrah and Grenache-dominated 2014 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem was harvested with miniscule yields of 28 hectoliters per hectare. Completely destemmed and aged all in concrete tanks, its ruby opaque color is followed by complex notes of garrigue, leather, plums and violets. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and layered, with a great texture, this fruit-forward, balanced Roussillon is already hard to resist, but will continue drinking nicely for 6-7 years. 92 Pts Robert Parker

BTG $11.25 Retail $29.99

2014 Peju Merlot

Napa Valley, California

Fragrant aromas of bright raspberry, blueberry and cigar box introduce the lush plum, blackberry and currant flavors of this firmly structured Merlot. With mouth-filling tannins, this wine is complex and decadent featuring layers of mocha, anise and crème brulee. Culminating with elegance and hints of cocoa nibs, the 2014 Merlot will continue to mature for the next 6- 8 years.

BTG 10.75 Retail $27.99
