79% Malbec 21% Cabernet Sauvignon
20% new French oak, Good bright, dark red. Lovely purity and lift to the aromas of cassis, redcurrant, licorice, spices and mint. Densely packed, suave and sweet, showing refreshing acid cut to the savory dark berry and licorice flavors, with a claret-like suggestion of graphite. This has 14.6% alcohol but I’d never have guessed. Boasts lovely intensity a terrific value. 90 Pts Stephen Tanzer

2013 Bousquet Grand Reserve Malbec

Bright medium ruby. Tight, inky, medicinal aromas of blackberry and violet convey a youthful impression of energy. Juicy, spicy and intense, boasting excellent definition and lift to its dark berry and spice flavors; aeration revealed good creamy depth. Spreads out horizontally to saturate the tongue on the long, firmly tannic finish. A solid mineral underpinning contributes verve and accentuates the wine’s structure. 93 Pts James Suckling
