2014 Telmo Rodriguez Basa
Rueda, Castilla Leon, Spain
It’s mostly Verdejo with 8% Viura, fermented in stainless steel and bottled unoaked. The wine is clean, focused, and fruit-driven with some balsamic notes of bay leaf and fennel. The palate is quite light with good acidity, and is clean and sharp. This is a reliable, nicely-priced Rueda, showing that volume, affordability and quality are possible to combine.

2014 Sonoma Cutrer Russian River Chardonnay
Sonoma, Ca
This vintage is very aromatic, fruit forward, loaded with aromas of lemon and lime, and accented with nougat, green apple, spices, pear and touches of wet stone minerality. Crisp and zesty flavors of lemon drop, green apple, white peach and lychee are accented with a nice barrel spice and persistent lime.

2014 Macmurray Ranch Pinot Noir
Central Coast, Ca
Deep ruby in color, opens with delicate notes of black cherry, raspberry and pomegranate, accented by a distinct spice character that typifies Olson Ranch . Velvety soft tannins meld with ripe red fruit flavors to create a smooth mouth feel and long finish. 90+ Points, International Wine Review

2014 Jean Louis Chave Mon Coeur Cotes du Rhone
Rhone Valley, France
Vivid ruby. Ripe and perfumed on the nose, displaying energetic red and blue fruit aromas and a hint of white pepper. Broad, sappy and seamless in the mouth, offering sweet black raspberry and boysenberry flavors with a suggestion of spicecake. The berry notes resonate on the smooth, clinging, gently tannic finish, which shows no rough edges.

2013 Hill Family “Barrel” Red Blend
Napa Valley, Ca
The 2013 Proprietary Red Barrel Blend is 50% Merlot, 13% Malbec, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest a kitchen-sink assemblage of Syrah, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. This is the least expensive wine in the portfolio, but a big-time sleeper – a stunner in fact. Inky bluish/purple with notes of blueberry liqueur, black raspberry, licorice and incense, this full-bodied opulent wine hits all the sweet spots on the palate, but is dry and full-bodied with voluptuous texture, terrific palate presence and complexity. This is a crowd-pleasing, hedonistic and intellectual turn-on.
