2016 Raats Family Chenin Blanc Original Unwooded
Stellenbosch, South Africa
The wine has a distinctive yellow apple and pineapple core, alongside notes of green melon and limes, thus bursting with fresh fruit flavours. It ends with zesty citrus flavours, and has a long mineral finish. The Raats Original Chenin Blanc is a classic example of a Chenin Blanc made from older vines, grown in very specific soil types. Now in its 16th year of production, the consistency in quality is unquestionable. 91 Pts Wine Spectator
BTG $6.50 Retail $13.99

2015 Vina Cobos Felino Chardonnay
Mendoza , Argentina
A white gold chardonnay with delicate green hues. Tropical aromas unfold: white flowers, nectarine, passion fruit, and a touch of grilled pineapple. The palate reveals citrus tones of grapefruit, lemon grass and delicate lemon peel confit on the finish, complementing the vibrant aromatic profile. Texturally silky, with a well-integrated, lively acidity. 90 pts Wine Spectator
BTG $7.75 Retail $17.99

2013 Chateau De Paraza Minervois Cuvée Spéciale
Languedoc-Roussillon, France
40% Grenache,40% Syrah , 20% Mourvedre
Cherry and raspberry compote notes are backed by red licorice undertones and juicy acidity in this medium-bodied red, with floral and mineral details weaving together on the crisp finish. 90 Pts Wine Spectator
BTG $6.25 Retail $12.99

2013 Vietti Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco
Piedmont, Italy
Without a doubt, this is one of the top easiest-to-drink wines I tasted this year. The 2013 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco is an approachable and versatile wine that brings on a hearty appetite for genuine home cooking. The wine is ripe with dark fruit nuances and it offers a complete bouquet that is comprised of dark fruit, pressed rose and spice. Despite its apparent simplicity, this Nebbiolo is not without its complexity or depth. 91 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $10.75 Retail $27.99

2013 Vina Casa Silva Carménère Cuvée
Colchagua Valley, Rapel Valley, Chile
Inky ruby. An emphatically fruity bouquet evokes fresh black and blue fruits, violet and cracked pepper, with a hint of smokiness in the background. Silky and seamless on the palate, offering juicy blueberry and boysenberry flavors that are given spine and focus by tangy acidity. Approachable already but the wine’s density and freshness suggest that it has material to burn. Closes smooth and gently sweet, with very good energy and supple tannins.

NV Canard Duchene Authentic Brut
Champagne, France
One of Champagne’s hidden treasures, Canard-Duchêne produces a lively style that is fresh and yet satisfying. I have tasted these wines over the last decade and they are very consistent. Medium straw, light yellow in color, steady beads; a triumphant aroma of fresh apples, light yeast and brisk mineral; medium bodied, bright and sassy on the palate; dry, very good acidity, well balanced; bright, tart apple flavors; lively aftertaste.
Retail $38.99

2013 Colene Clemens ” Margo” Pinot Noir
Chehalem Mountains, Oregon
Bright and spicy, this wine makes an immediate impact. The blueberry fruit has a sassy edge, and it penetrates through the middle into a finish with notes of black licorice, baking spices and coffee grounds. Firm, full and tight, the wine should age nicely. 93 pts Wine Spectator

Bright purple. Spice-accented black and blue fruit aromas are complemented by violets and woodsmoke. 2013 Orowines “Bluegray”
Priorat, Spain
45% Garnacha, 30% Cariñena, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon
Firm and focused, this red makes an impression through energy rather than weight. Cherry, black olive, licorice and garrigue flavors mingle on a lithe frame, with well-integrated tannins and balsamic acidity. Offers a fresh, spicy finish.91 Pts Wine Spectator

2013 Clos Los Siete
Mendoza , Argentina

Bright medium ruby. Aromas of burnished oak, currant, licorice, violet and bitter chocolate. Plush flavors of dark berries and spices spread out to saturate the palate. Offers lovely breadth and sweetness of fruit for a red wine in this price range. Tannins are sweet and seamless. This is already tasty but will keep.90 pts Vinous

NV Taittinger Brut
Champagne, France
A blend of Chardonnay (40%) and Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (60%)
The brilliant body is golden yellow in colour. The bubbles are fine, while the foam is discreet yet lingering. The nose, very open and expressive, delivers aromas of fruit and brioche. It also gives off the fragrance of peach, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and vanilla pod. The entry onto the palate is lively, fresh and in total harmony. This is a delicate wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey.

Retail $42.99

2014 Cakebread Chardonnay
Napa Valley, Ca
One of the richer, weightier chardonnays we’ve made in recent years, our 2014 vintage is redolent of creamy golden apple, Asian pear and honeydew melon with complementary coconut and sweet oak scents. Fresh and lively on the palate, with rich citrus, apple, melon and tropical fruit flavors, it culminates in a long finish featuring pleasing mineral and spice tones.
Retail $43.99

2012 Swanson Cygnet Merlot
Napa Valley, Ca
A wine designed to retain the fresh lushness of ripe Merlot grapes, yet exhibit the complexity and texture that only come with aging in small barrels. 2012 was a warm vintage, which is reflected in the depth of flavor and generous mouth feel of this wine. Deep purple-hued red color, and an array of black fruits more commonly associated with Cabernet lead to a mouthful of velvety, ripe tannins. Lingering notes of cocoa, clove and black cherry echo long after the wine is swallowed.
BTG $9.25 Retail $21.99

2013 Klinkerbrick Syrah
Lodi, Ca
Rich and meaty enough to sink your teeth into, this dark and deep Syrah has toasty, smoky aromas. Generous blackberry and boysenberry flavors that are full but not sweet accompany a velvety texture. This is tasty now, but has the layered tannins and acidity for aging. 91 Pts Wine Enthusiast
BTG $9.25 Retail $21.99

2013 ZD Cabernet
Napa Valley, Ca
This wine exhibits intense aromas of blackberry, plum and cassis with hints of cocoa, cedar and sweet vanilla. The palate is marked by incredibly concentrated black fruits enveloped with ripe, lush tannins, and well balanced acidity. It is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to develop complexity over many years to come.
BTG $16.00 Retail $39.99
