2014 Garofoli Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Macrina
Marche, Italy
Pale straw. Varietally accurate flavors of white flowers, sweet almond paste and botanical herbs. Rich, dense and suave, with ripe yellow stone fruit and orchard fruit flavors that linger nicely on the mouthcoating finish. This packs in a tremendous amount of flavor and has lovely balance. 90 Pts Vinous
BTG $7.00 Retail $15.99

2014 Pikes Riesling
Clare Valley, Australia
Brilliant pale green with a fresh, vibrant nose displaying aromas of lemon, white peach and some subtle honeysuckle notes. Fresh, crisp and lively, the palate is chockfull of lemon/lime flavours complemented by zesty acidity that provides both length and structure to the soft, long finish.

BTG $6.50 Retail $13.99

2014 Domaine Lafage Bastide Miraflors Vieilles Vignes
Languedoc Roussillon, France
A blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache, with the Grenache aged in concrete tanks and the Syrah in 500-liter demi-muids. Lafage makes more expensive wines than this, but certainly excels with his value lineup. He has really hit a home run with this 10,000-case cuvée. It is deep, ruby/plum/purple, with fresh notes of blackcurrants, plums, Provençal herbs as well as licorice. Deep, medium to full-bodied, with amazing fruit, the purity, authenticity and Mediterranean upbringing of this wine are obvious. Quite deep, round and succulent, this wine should drink well for another several years. This is one to buy by the case. 92 Pts Robert Parker
BTG $7.00 Retail $15.99

2013 Falesco Tellus Cabernet
Umbria, Italy
This is an amazing value wine and to my palate, it is by far the best of the three wines in the Tellus series. The wine offers true varietal notes of blackberry and dried cherry. It is aged in neutral oak for up to six months. You can taste some of those toasted notes, but they are not invasive. 90 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $7.00 Retail $15.99

2012 Tapiz Alta Malbec
Mendoza, Argentina
Intense red color with violet hues. Fresh red fruit and spicy floral aromas stand out, accompanied by vanilla and toasted almonds. The palate is fruity, balanced and with good volume. Its sweet tannins give a gentle and persistent finish. 93 Pts James Suckling
BTG 8.00 Retail $19.99

2015 Marchesa Gavi
Piedmont, Italy
Delicate aromas of honeydew melon, white spring flower and a whiff of lemon lead the nose on this refreshing white. The lively, straightforward palate offers green apple, white peach and a flinty note alongside bright acidity. 89 points Wine Enthusiast
BTG $7.00 Retail $15.99

2015 Novellum Chardonnay
Languedoc Roussillon, France
A custom cuvee created by importer Eric Solomon, is a smokin’ value that’s made from 100% Chardonnay that spent three months in tank (on Viognier lees) followed by three months in barrel. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it offers lots of orchard fruits, white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla to go with a medium to full-bodied, crisp, yet still textured and mouth-filling style on the palate. You can’t go wrong at the price and this is a terrific wine to enjoy over the coming year or two. 90 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $6.50 Retail $13.99

2014 Brooks Runaway Red Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
Cinammon and rhubarb, macerated strawberry and fresh raspberries with hints of orange peel and pomegranate. A slight bright fresh herbal note, tomato leaf, cedar and mushroom. In the mouth there are similar notes of orange peel and rhubarb, with forest floor and sautéed mushrooms. The wine has a beautiful mouthfeel, round with bright acidity and a finish of red fruit. Cranberry and white cherry notes on the finish, lingers lengthy with a slightly earthy mineral note. Delicious, especially with a slight chill. 91 Pts Wine Spectator
BTG $9.75 Retail $24.99

2011 Izadi Reserva
Rioja, Spain
A 100% Tempranillo aged 14 months in American and French oak, the 2011 Reserva is an outstanding value showing beautiful black and red currant fruits, high-quality, unsmoked cigar tobacco, licorice and loamy soil undertones. Deep, medium to full-bodied, very pure, rich and concentrated, this is a gorgeous wine to drink over the next 3-4 years. 92 Pts Robert Parker
BTG $8.25 Retail $19.99

2012 Zenato Ripassa
Veneto, Italy
85% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 5% Oseleta.
This wine is closely connected to the greatest wine of Valpolicella: Amarone. After pressing the dried grapes from which Amarone is made, the Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm marc of Amarone. A second alcoholic fermentation begins which increases the alcoholic content and the wine becomes richer in colour. A velvety red, offering fine tannins and a pleasing palate of plump cherry, dried fig, espresso crème and baking spices. Juicy and well-balanced. 90 Pts Wine Spectator
BTG 9.25 Retail $22.99

2013 Taken Red
Napa, Ca
A rich, full-throttle wine, Merlot/Cabernet blend is one of the more flamboyant wines readers will come across in this vintage. Unctuous on the palate, the 2013 is loaded with tons of super-ripe fruit and French oak, with all of its elements nicely put together. 91 Pts Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 90 Pts Wine Spectator

2015 Inama Soave Classico
Venato, Italy
Garganega 100%
Bright lemon, crushed rocks, nectarine, ash and white flowers jump from the glass. This is Inama’s brightest and most focused white. All the elements fall into place in a gracious, delicious Soave to drink now and over the next few years.
89 pts Vinous
BTG $7.00 Retail $15.99

2013 Capcanes Mas Donis Barrica
Montsant, Spain
Inky ruby. Heady, primary aromas of fresh red fruits, peppery spices, violet and smoky minerals. On the palate, lively, sharply focused raspberry and cherry-cola flavors are underscored by a pronounced mineral quality and building spiciness. Silky tannins give shape to a long, incisive finish that clings impressively and leaves a sexy red fruit liqueur note behind. This wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak for nine months. The bang for the buck with this wine is pretty nuts.
91 Pts Vinous
BTG $6.75 Retail $14.99
