2016 Licia Albariño
Rías Baixas, North West Spain
Straw yellow with greenish hues, the Lícia Albariño has strong varietal characteristics with hints of grapefruit, candied fruit, quince jelly, notes of fresh herbs, green apples, and minerals. It is full bodied and well balanced, highlighting the aromas of citrus and green apple, with a long and persistent finish. 88pts Vinous

2015 De Wetshof Estate Limestone Hill Chardonnay
Robertson, South Africa
Comes from seven- to 21-year-old vines cropped between five and eight tons per hectares. This unwooded Chardonnay has a pretty nose with apricot blossom, slate and almond-tinged bouquet that gently opens in the glass. The palate is fresh and poised with a fine bead of acidity, tensile with a focused dried apricot and lemon curd finish. This is an excellent Chardonnay from De Wetshof and at this price, you cannot go wrong.

2013 Finca Villacreces Pruno
Ribera Del Duero, Castilla Leon, Spain
I’ve loved this wine in the past and the 2013, a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 12 months in French oak, is stunning, simply over-delivering in so many different ways. This wine, which offers up copious quantities, of blueberry, black raspberry and black currant fruit, licorice, graphite and meaty notes, offers fabulous aromatics, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, beautiful, pure texture and a long, heady finish with subtle oak. What’s amazing is the French oak is all two-year-old, super-expensive Darnajou barrels. For $20 this is another amazing offering from Spain and from importer Eric Solomon. 93 pts Robert Parker
BTG $8.25 Retail $20.99

2013 Land & Reed Cabernet Franc
North Coast, California
Strikingly complex, dense and aromatic, with a rich core of vivid, graphite-laced dark berry, loamy earthy, underbrush and melted chocolate. Gains depth and nuance on the finish.
