Three generations of the Leonardini Family (Tre Leoni) are responsible for this expertly made proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. This 2012 marks the third release of the Tre Leoni. It remains a fun yet serious blend of some of the Leonardini Family’s favorite barrel lots. Aromas of dark cherry, cocoa and a touch of oak excite the senses. Flavors of violet, plum and blackberry tantalize the palate. This 2012 is a full-bodied wine with plenty of structure on the mid-palate and soft tannins on the finish.

HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING
Tuesday December 22nd, 2015
6-9 Pm No charge for Tastings

NV Charles Bove, Vouvray Brut
Loire Valley, France
Is composed of a selection of juice from the vineyards of the Loire Valley and is based heavily on Chenin Blanc with a dollop of Chardonnay to add richness. The wine is made according to traditional methods; during the bottle fermentation and maturation, it is kept lying on lathes for more than 18 months. “Very Tasty” Tal Cohen
BTG $7.50 Retail $17.99

2010 Klein Constantia Perdeblokke Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc
Constantia, South Africa
Comes from a single 1.27-hectare vineyard located at a higher altitude on the Constantiaberg slopes represents the “most powerful expression of Sauvignon Blanc.” It spent 12 months aging on the lees. Well, winemaker Matt Day has created one humdinger of a Sauvignon Blanc. It is bestowed with an audacious bouquet of tropical fruit, mango, guava and passion fruit with underlying minerality that becomes more evident an hour after the bottle is opened. In other hands this might have been overblown, but the team harnesses that powerful fruit to create a gorgeous, rich, flavor-packed Sauvignon in a similar style to a great Marlborough Sauvignon. The acidity is extremely well-judged and it nearly offsets those layers of passion fruit and pineapple. Superb! 92 pts Wine Advocate
BTG $8.00 Retail $19.99

2013 Michele Satta Bolgheri Rosso
30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, 10%Syrah, 10% Teroldego
Tuscany, Italy
Michele Satta’s 2013 Bolgheri Rosso hits all the right buttons. This is a complete and generous wine with loads of bright fruit intensity followed by balanced notes of spice, leather and tobacco. These aromas are well measured to contrast one another. The mouthfeel is generous and round without going overboard. There is a great sense of balance and harmony here. 91 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG 9.25 Retail $23.99

2012 Puramun Malbec Reserva
Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina
You can feel the hand of a great winemaker in the 2012 Malbec Reserva. Produced with grapes from 15-17 years of age in the Uco Valley. Everything seems to be in place, enough fruit and enough spices offering good reflection of the grape, place and vintage. The nose exudes the cherries and violets of Malbec, the warmth of the 2012 and the freshness of the Uco Valley .Very good for the price.
92 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $9.25 Retail $23.99

2011 Fourcas-Borie Lirac
Bordeaux, France
70% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot
producing one of the best Listracs I have tasted in many a year. A sleeper of the vintage, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine is opulent, round and consumer-friendly, with plenty of incense, red and black fruits, medium to full body, and a lusciousness that is very endearing. 90 Pts Wine Advocate

2012 Vins El Cep Marques de Gelida Pinot Noir Rose Brut Reserva
Penedes, Spain
A killer value is the 100% Pinot Noir 2012 Marques De Gelida Pinot Noir Rosé Brut Reserva. Unfortunately, there are only 500 cases of it. The wine comes from an 11-acre Pinot Noir vineyard planted in pure limestone and is aged in bottle for a minimum of 24 months before release. Textbook strawberry, cherry and cranberry notes soar from the glass of this elegant, crisp, light-bodied, fashionably
delicate pink wine. Good effervescence and a crisp finish make for an amazing wine for the price.
89 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $8.00 Retail $19.99

2010 Domaine De La Janasse Principauté d’Orange Terre de Bussière
Southern Rhône, France
Vibrant and compact, with a bitter orange peel edge framing the core of cherry compote, raspberry and tobacco notes. Shows good energy through the finish. Defined and lively.89 Pts Robert Parker

2011 Ascheri Barolo Pisapola
Piedmont, Italy
The 2011 Barolo Pisapola is an impressive wine from the Verduno township that has performed very nicely this vintage. It presents tight and balanced intensity with wild berry aromas, spice, tobacco and licorice. It boasts good outer armor with solid tannins and red berry flavors. There are no visible weak spots and the delivery is smooth and refined. Barolo Pisapola is aged in new and old Slovenian oak.
92 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $11.00 Retail $29.99

2013 Familia Zuccardi Malbec Q
Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina
The 2013 Malbec Q is sourced from La Consulta (Altamira) and Vista Flores. This wine has changed since 2010; now only 30% to 50% of the wine is oaked and the rest is matured in cement vats. The oak is imperceptible, and there are plenty of aromas of violets and blueberries with some aromatic herbs, all fruit. What Sebastian Zuccardi looks for is to have some herbal/countryside aromas and a lively palate with good acidity, which is what you find here. This is really tasty, with a fine, chalky tannin and just plain great. 91 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $7.50 Retail $17.99

2012 Bodegas Teso la Monja Almirez
Toro, Castilla Leon, Spain
The 2012 Almirez (a 1,000-case cuvée of 100% Tinta de Toro) was aged 14 months in French oak. This sensational wine comes from vines planted between 1949 and 1999. Yields were a conservative 1.8 tons of fruit per acre. An inky/purple color is followed by aromas of camphor, ground pepper, blackberries and cassis. This full-bodied, Northern Rhône Valley-like Spanish red exhibits meaty/lard notes, terrific density and purity, and a finish that lasts nearly 40 seconds. It should drink nicely for a decade or more.
93 Pts Robert Parker
BTG 10.50 Retail $27.99

2009 Glenelly Grand Vin de Glenelly
South Africa
A late release because the Shiraz took longer to mature and integrate with the Cabernet. A blend of 42% Shiraz, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot, it has an intense bouquet with licorice-tinged black fruit, incense and touch of marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well judged acidity, and clove-tinged black fruit with a sedate and harmonious finish.
This feels very accomplished. 92 Pts Wine Advocate
BTG $10.75 Retail $28.99

2014 BERA Brachetto
Piedmont, Italy
Bera Brachetto is made from the aromatic red variety of the same name. This frizzante undergoes fermentation using the Charmat method and is macerated with the skins for about six hours. The result is an alluring rosy colored wine with delicate bubbles and buoyantly fruity notes. Clear ruby-red in color with purple highlights, this Piedmontese red sparkler is aromatic and fragrant with notes of sweet plum, blackberries and red cherries. Sweet but balanced on the palate by vibrant acidity, the delicate bubbles will dance on your tongue!
BTG $8.00 Retail $19.99
