Sonoma, Ca
Refreshing and full-bodied, it has initial aromas of wet sandstone leading into a full bouquet of white peach and hazelnut. Lovely upon first release with enough structure to age for years to come.

2010 Maculan Palazzotto Cabernet
Veneto, Italy
The wine showcases the volcanic soils of the Breganze DOC. Indeed, the mineral dryness is truly exceptional: It runs down the back of the wine like a long zipper on a tight black dress. Palazzotto is layered and rich with territory-driven notes of dried earth and garden herb that give it extra liveliness. This wine offers a clean and well-made portrait of Cabernet Sauvignon: You’d never tire of drinking it.

About 40% of the vineyards are over 70 years of age, which is quite impressive. The 2010 Reserva is another remarkable bargain. Made from 100% Tempranillo aged 14 months in American and French oak, it boasts a dense purple color as well as a big, sweet perfume of cassis, vanillin, graphite and forest floor.
