Immediately, the nose jumps forth with aromas of ripe black fruit – currant, blackberry, cocoa bean – cigar tobacco, paper smoke, wet rock, freshly-milled cedar, and peppermint liqueur. Broodingly complex and dignified. Upon tasting the palate surprises initially with dry-restraint yet fulfills the earth-driven promise of the nose with micro-fine tannins, a dense mid-palate, medium-long finish, and subtly balanced alcohol and acidity. 89 Pts Wine Advocate
