WE WISH ALL OF YOU A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING

HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014
6-9 Pm
No charge for Tastings

2013 Vinum Chenin Blanc
Clarksburg California
The first thought is refreshing after nosing this wine and discovering tropical fruits such as kiwi and casaba melon notes and a touch of linalool and blood orange notes. The palate is completely balanced in its acidity and mid palate allowing a variation of flavors to be revealed: citron lemon, key lime, Pipen apple, fig and Meyer lemon zest. It finishes with honeysuckle, mango, passion fruit and kumquat.
BTG $6.50 Retail $14.99

2013 Domaine Claude Riffault Sancerre les Boucauds
Loire Valley, France
Sourced from 30- to 40-year-old vines from limestone soils on hillsides, and fermented completely in stainless steel to maintain the fruit and freshness, the 2013 reveals – on a chalky palate – fully ripe and precise aromas of rather yellow-fleshed than green fruits with just a dash of citrus. i.e. plums, quince, physalis, passion fruit and further tropical fruits as well as elderflower. This straight, pure and elegant, almost Riesling-like wine discloses its calcareous soul very soon and the persistent aftertaste is marked by both, a lingering salinity and an animating fruit and fine chiseled acidity. 93 Pts Robert Parker
BTG $11.00 Retail $29.99

2010 Castello di Ama Chianti Classico
Tuscany, Italy
Cherry, licorice, spice and mineral flavors give this dimension, while the lively acidity lends focus. Balanced and long, with berry fruit and spice details gracing the finish. 90 Pts Wine Spectator
BTG $10.00 Retail $26.99

2012 La Storia Merlot
Alexander Valley, California
The main aromas and flavors are of dark cherry, plum, black licorice and herbs. The new oak contributes a touch of vanilla, brown sugar, cocoa dust and toast. On the mouth, the wine is almost heavy, with balanced tannins and acidity.
BTG $8.50 Retail 21.99

2012 Titus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Napa, California
A winner, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits beautiful ripeness, glorious fruit, plenty of exuberance, and pure, full-bodied opulence. It is a friendly, unmanipulated, luscious Cabernet Sauvignon that is faithful to its varietal character, and delivers plenty of depth, complexity and richness.
92 pts Robert Parker
Retail $44.99

2013 Paul Cluver Chardonnay
Elgin, South Africa
It has a typically gorgeous bouquet with touches of lemon curd, patisserie, apricot blossom and shaved almond. The definition is superb. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity: touches of mango and lemon peel on the entry with more exotic notes such as passion fruit and pineapple coming at the finish. Perennially one of my favorite Chardonnays from South Africa, this is no different.

BTG $8.00 Retail $19.99

2013 Paul Cluver Gewurztraminer
Elgin, South Africa
Freshly sliced lychees come straight out the blocks to greet you, flanked by peach skin and Mirabelle scents. The palate is well balanced with fresh acidity. Any blowsy character that can afflict the variety is neatly sidestepped and the finish is both precise and elegant, with grapefruit, lychee and passion fruit frolicking on the aftertaste. 90 Pts Robert Parker
BTG $6.75 Retail $15.99

2012 Domaine Dupeuble Beaujolais

A pretty red, with strawberry and raspberry coulis notes and accents of herbes de Provence and spice box. Balanced and light-bodied, staying focused through to the fresh finish.
BTG $7.00 Retail $16.99

2010 Castello di Neive Barbaresco
Piedmont, Italy
The wine opens with a bright ruby-garnet color and shows amazing fine nuances of rose, ginger, licorice and anisette. The bouquet is simply beautiful and moving, especially as you follow its quick evolution in the glass. This wine is all about the finer details and it shows impressive depth of clarity and luminosity. 90 Pts Robert Parker
BTG $12.50 Retail 34.99

2010 Angels Hope Estate ” The Ripper” Shiraz
Western, Austraila
Made in a superripe, dense, almost fudge-like style, The Ripper tastes like a plummy, chocolaty Christmas cake with slightly coarse tannins on the finish. It’s Port-like in flavor, but without the heat from elevated alcohol. 90 Pts Wine Enthusiast
BTG $8.00 Retail $19.99

NV Laluca Prosecco

The nose is instantly defined and distinctive, offering up bold orchard fruits, crisp pears, and lemon curd, all of which come together in a rich, creamy off-dry style that is extremely appealing. There is a deft touch of minerality, playing nicely against the subtle sweetness of the wine. Vinified entirely in stainless steel employing the Charmat method, native, indigenous yeasts are utilized when possible. The finish shows excellent length and fine overall balance.

2012 Bread and Butter Chardonnay
Napa, California
The color is a rich, deep golden yellow with bright flashes of brilliance. It begins with a combination of bright tropical and
citrus fruits. Then the notes of cream and dough begin to rise to the surface and balance with the fruit. Floral and oak aromas develop last. Wonderful flavors of apricot, lemon zest, papaya, banana, and honeysuckle. Then buttered popcorn and vanilla oak characters emerge from the background to soften the fruit. There is a great balance of acidity and richness.

2012 Aviary Cabernet
Napa, California
Deep garnet in color opening with aromas of black berries, dried plums, cigar box, and a hint of pepper. The broad mid-palate is rich and balanced with flavors of plum, currant, and black tea.
