Abita Beer Tasting Friday 10/25/13 7pm-9pm
If you have ever visited New Orleans, Abita beer already holds a special place in your heart, they make some mighty fine beers. We would love for you to join us on Friday October 25th from 7pm to 9pm to taste a few. Founded in 1986, Abita brews beer using only the finest ingredients – British and American malted barley, German and American yeast strains, Pacific Northwest hops and the pure artesian water of Abita Springs. Abita beer has no preservatives, additives or stabilizers and is cold filtered. With Fall in the air we thought a couple of seasonal brews were in order, plus a much beloved classic. There is no charge for this event.
We will be sampling the following:
Abita Fall Fest (September – November) is an Octoberfest-style lager brewed with pale, Munich and caramel malts. It is hopped with German Perle and Hallertau hops. The result is a full-bodied, malty lager with a bright amber color.
Purple Haze® is a lager brewed with real raspberries added after filtration. It is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and Vanguard hops. The berries add a fruity aroma, tartly sweet taste and a subtle purple color and haze…you may see fruit pulp in the beer.
Abita Pecan® Harvest Ale is brewed with pale, Munich, biscuit and caramel malts and Willamette hops. Real Louisiana roasted pecans are added in the brewhouse and give the ale a subtle nutty flavor and aroma.
