Roessler Laurelwood Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, 2009
Blackberry on the nose expands to broad-shouldered dark cherry and currant before unveiling tobacco and leather overtones. The blackberry persists, pressing through the palate as a slight chalkiness fills out the texture and blends with wood and chocolate shavings. The finish delivers hints of oak, cedar, and leather, intermingling with lasting aromas of brown sugar and violets.

CC The Cabernet, 2009
” we have found ourselves with the unique opportunity to work with one of the world’s most special vineyards and wineries. We are not allowed to tell you exactly who, but we can say it comes from the world-class hillsides above one of those quaint little towns along highway 29 in the Napa. The wine is first class, serious and special cabernet AND it costs a very small fraction of what the much fancier wines of the neighborhood cost. In fact, we dare you – put it up against your favorite cabernet, put it up against Opus One (no, this is not from Opus) and you decide which is better. We feel confident we’ll crush it!” ._ master sommelier Richard Betts

Amapola Creek Zinfandel Sonoma Valley Monte Rosso Vineyard Viñas Antiguas (Old Vines), 2008
The remarkable fruit from the gnarly old vines at Monte Rosso Vineyard enabled Richard Arrowood to make a truly distinctive Zinfandel. The wine was aged for twenty months in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels. This beautifully balanced wine offers aromas that meld vanilla, spice, and lovely black fruit accents. The concentrated flavors are rich and textured, with hints of sweet spices. Possessing plenty of round, yet firm tannins, the wine displays rich, concentrated flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, and blackberry, with hints of mocha and spice on a lengthy finish.
