The first Tasting in April will feature wines with intense varietal character; Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, A rich, buttery Chardonnay and a Cabernets from California, Pinot Noir from the famous Sonoma Russian River Valley and a highly rated Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero in Spain!

Count Karoyli Grüner Veltliner, 2010
The Count Karolyi Grüner Veltliner 2010 is dry white wine is light gold in color, with aromas of green apples and gooseberries. On the palate, it is balanced by delicate fruitiness. A fresh, zingy wine that shows crisp acidity.

Morse Code Shiraz, 2010
The Morse Code Shiraz is a fruit driven and made with minimal oak contact to allow the fruit flavors and regional characters to be at the forefront. With lifted floral lavender, spearmint, plum and cherry fruit and hints of spice and licorice this is a very aromatic wine. The palate is medium-bodied and elegant, with fleshy plum fruit and cool- climate rose and lavender characters as well as hints of spearmint; finishing with a soft and smooth tannin structure.

Pali Charm Acres Chardonnay, 2010
The 2010 Charm Acres Chardonnay was sourced from several of the finest vineyards on the Sonoma coast, where the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. It is golden straw in color. with aromas of honeydew melon, lime, green apple and peach. The palate is concentrated and rich, with flavors of pineapple, apricot and lemon, underscored by mineral notes.

Roessler Laurelwood Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, 2009
Blackberry on the nose expands to broad-shouldered dark cherry and currant before unveiling tobacco and leather overtones. Amapola Creek Zinfandel Sonoma Valley Monte Rosso Vineyard Viñas Antiguas (Old Vines), 2008
The remarkable fruit from the gnarly old vines at Monte Rosso Vineyard enabled Richard Arrowood to make a truly distinctive Zinfandel. The wine was aged for twenty months in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels. This beautifully balanced wine offers aromas that meld vanilla, spice, and lovely black fruit accents. The concentrated flavors are rich and textured, with hints of sweet spices. Maison de la Colline “La Craie” Sancerre, 2010
The soils and climate of Sancerre are some of the best for producing crisp, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with impressive notes of minerals (especially chalk). This white has superbly polished aromatics with a ton of character. It also sports crisp, clean power that sneaks up on the back end and leaves with fantastic length and structure.

This unoaked Chardonnay has a fragrant floral nose. Aged in stainless steel, the wine is effervescent and fresh-tasting, a lot of grapefruit and stone fruit flavor and slight sweetness with a mineral chaser on the finish.

Black Slate Priorat, 2009
46% Garnacha, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Merlot and Syrah aged for 12 months in French and American oak.
It displays more minerality along with slightly reticent aromas of cedar, black cherry, and black currant. On the palate it displays some potential but is currently playing it close to the vest. It seems to have the right stuff and will continue developing.
