Our next tasting will take us on a tour around the world: Spanish Cava, French Chardonnay, an Italian Barbera; a Pinot from Sonoma and a Shiraz from Australia.

A delicate bead in the glass of soft golden color. The nose bursts with rich pear, green apple and hints of cream. On the palate the wine shows great finesse and balance with notes of papaya and pear rounded out with hints of hazelnuts, finishing with crisp acidity and freshness.

Vineyards are located in the Languedoc, surrounding the village of Sommières
Its zesty lemony finish perfectly illuminates rich flavors of white peach and fresh pineapple on the mid-palate, everything is gracefully in balance.

Banshee Sonoma County Pinot Noir, 2010
The initial aromas have a certain lift and definition highlighted by small wild strawberries, cranberry, and rooibos tea. On the palate one finds Ranier cherries, jasmine, plum, cranberry and again that wild strawberry note floating on a silky structure. It’s lines are cut like a Varvatos suit. The bass note is provided by a subtle framing touch of brown baking spice.

Cantina Valpane Barbera del Monferrato, 2010
The suggestions of spice from the interaction between the wine and the wood add to the depth of Barbera, Deep ruby red; vinous, fruity aroma with hints of spices and black cherry; dry, frank, slightly salty taste to give a great wine with a harmoniously balanced structure and a long, complex finish.

Shinas Estate the Guilty Shiraz, 2008
Ripe shiny blackberry red. Voluptuous cherry, vanilla and peppery spice aromas and full-bodied flavors packed with smoky vanillin oak, cherry and strawberry fruits, chocolate and mocha all wrapped up in a big, rich, velvety smooth package. A juicy wine with fine tannins, the pepper detected on the nose kicks in again to make a welcome re-appearance on the powerful finish.
