Wine Tasting 2/15

Posted in Hollywood Vine Events, Uncategorized by hvine on February 10, 2011 No Comments yet

If you’re considering our Wine Class featuring Italy on the 19th please call us ASAP.

We are just about sold out.

This Tuesday we’re going start off with some “different” kinds of wine. First a refreshing crisp wine from Austria, a fragrant white blend from Italy, then on to Chile where they excel with Carmenere, back to Europe for a Juicy Tempranillo and we finish at home with a over achieving Napa Cab.

No charge for tastings

Huber Gruner Veltliner, 2009

Offers fresh chamomile and honeysuckle flavors midpalate, which turn peachy and spicy on the mouth filling finish.

BTG $5.50                                        Retail $13.99

Terlano Terlaner, 2009

A blend of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Sauvignon, is one of Terlan’s signature wines. All of the elements come together beautifully as expressive aromatics meld into a core of generous, textured fruit. In 2009 the Terlaner Classico is an overachiever in its category. This is a lot of wine for the money. 88pts Robert Parker

 BTG $ 7.50                                        Retail $19.99

Terra Andina Carmenere Reserve, 2008

Attractive perfume of spice box, balsamic, herbs, blackberry; ripe, plush, no hard edges.

BTG $5.25                                          Retail $12.99

Matiz Ribera Del Duero, 2009

It has a shining cherry colour. Followed by sweet spices aromas blended with oak, creamy and candied fruit. In the mouth it has toasted flavor with mature tannins and a long after taste.

BTG $ 6.00                                        Retail $15.99

Napa Station Cabernet Sauvignon, 2007

Attractive deep color, ripe fruit and unexpected intensity for a wine in this price range, well-worth buying. Drink it over the next several years. 87pts Robert Parker

BTG $ 7.50                                     Retail $19.99
