Wine Tasting 12/28

Posted in Hollywood Vine Events, Uncategorized by hvine on December 24, 2010 No Comments yet

We want to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Holiday ! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and friendship and wish you a fantastic 2011.

Now that we’re all broke from gift buying we thought our last tasting of the year we would feature really good value wines. We’ll start off with a very good Prosecco with great spark and bubbles, a classic Sauvignon Blanc that you could enjoy by itself or paired with the awesome fusion flavors of South Florida. The Pinot and the Cabernet are made at good wineries in San Francisco and Napa but the fruit is outsourced from fine growers throughout California. And finally a  beautiful reserve Malbec from Argentina.

HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING

Tuesday December 28th, 2010

6:00-9:00 pm

No charge for tastings

Pisani Prosecco DOC, NV

Prosecco is a popular sparkling wine. It’s simple – yet refreshing – taste makes it a perfect aperitif. Prosecco undergoes second fermentation in pressurized tanks instead of in bottle. This helps keep the cost down. With the light and fruity body typical of Prosecco, Pisani has honeysuckle and ripe peach aromas.

BTG $ 5.75                                         Retail $13.99

Jules Taylor Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, 2009

Assertive grassy, tomato leaf flavors and crisp acidity reveals a dominance of Awatere Valley characters although the wine includes a blend of grapes from the Wairau Valley in the heart of Marlborough, NZ.

BTG $6.25                                        Retail $15.99

Heron Pinot Noir California, 2009

The grapes for the Heron 2009 Pinot Noir grew in Paso Robles, Monterey and Russian River Valley and they blend together harmoniously. Lighter and more “Burgundian” in style, this wine has higher acidity than many other fuller-bodied Pinot Noirs from California. It’s elegant and restrained yet zesty and fun at the same time.  Red cherry, tart cranberry, spicy vanilla and slightly mushroomy.

BTG $6.00                                     Retail $14.99

Grayson Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009

The grapes are harvested in the most prestigious growing areas of California and then vininified at the winery in Napa Valley. This Cabernet shows a dark, ruby color with a rich nose of ripe, dark cherries and blackberries. Its full bodied mouth feel leads to a lingering finish of toasted French oak.

BTG$5.25                                     Retail$11.99
