ROBERT OATLEY MUDGEE CHARDONNAY, 2007

Robert Oatley and Chris Hancock, the Australian dynamic duo that gave the world Rosemount Chardonnay, reunited to produce a complex, yet fruit driven style.

The fruit was grown on Oatley family vineyards and harvested at optimum ripeness. Half of the blend was fermented in stainless steel, around a third barrel fermented and the remainder cold fermented then aged in one-third brand new French oak. Much of the blend underwent a secondary fermentation that softened the wine’s acidity and gives a delicious creamy texture

The wine is based around the 114 and 115 clones, with fruit sourced from the Upper Tamar, Esk Valley and White Hills areas. This has brighter and more complex fragrant fruit aromas – a product of both the regional and clonal properties of the fruit selection. The palate is svelte and compact, showing intense, focussed cherry fruit and an even-tempered

MARQUIS PHILIPS SARA’S BLEND, 2008

This blend of 60% Shiraz, 25% Cabernet, 10% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc is Opaque red-black, scarlet rim. Aromas of plums, prunes, milk chocolate, and bitumen. The palate hints at : Dark plum jam and freshly baked chocolate cake. The wine is rich and mouth-filling with slightly chewy tannins. 91 pts Wine advocate

BOARDING PASS SHIRAZ, 2007

100% Shiraz half from Barrosa, half from McLaren Valley.

Red-black with a scarlet rim. Lifted peach, spice, vanilla and chocolate notes on the nose. Dense blackberries, fruitcake and stone fruit on the palate with some red berry and confectionery freshness, providing a rich, textural mouthfeel. 91 pts Wine Advocate

STRONG ARM SHIRAZ, 2007

100 % Shiraz, 50% Barrosa, 40% Riverland and 10% McLaren Valley.

Sweet-fruited vibrant nose of fragrant violets, plums, cherry and musk. The palate has rich blackberry, raspberry, licorice and tar. Finishes with a creamy, vanillin oak and slightly smoky character.
