Wine Tasting 3/23

Posted in Hollywood Vine Events, Uncategorized by HVINE ADMIN on March 18, 2010

Don’t miss March Madness at Hollywood Vine! Great libations, atmosphere and company.

We thought it fitting to find some  wines  to celebrate the season. This Tuesday we’re featuring wines that reflect this time of year’s crisp breezes, green lawns, budding flowers, and sunny days as well as its rainy ones. Wine should be an everyday beverage and good wine can be had for little money when you know where to look.

HOLLYWOOD VINE WINE TASTING!

Tuesday March 23rd, 2010

6:00-9:00 pm

No charge for tastings

CHAMISAL CHARDONNAY, 2008

Intended as a pure expression of what the Chardonnay varietal represents, fermented in stainless steel never touching any oak, has loads of fresh pineapple, lemon zest, golden apple and white peach fruit on the nose and palate. The acidity is bright and succulent, lengthening the finish of ripe, fresh flavors.

BTG $ 6.00                                  Retail $15.99

PINE RIDGE CHENIN/VIOGNIER, 2008

The final blend of 81% Chenin Blanc and 19% Viognier

The 2008 Chenin Blanc – Viognier flaunts aromas of ruby grapefruit, pear, lychee and melon, with a delicate touch of spicy, white florals.  Lively citrus and bright tropical fruit flavors are offered up alongside a supple texture.  The slightly off-dry finish is clean and crisp

BTG $ 5.25                                  Retail $ 12.99

GUNDLACH BUNDSCHU MERLOT, 2006

Lush aromas and flavors of blue fruit and red plum laced with sweet vanilla and dried sage. Medium-bodied, with broad, ripe tannins that add complex notes of cocoa and toast to the finish.

At an amazing price.

BTG $ 7.50                                  Retail $19.99

MICHAEL & DAVID EARTHQUAKE PETIT SIRAH , 2005

Up front blueberry syrup, black cherry and coffee bean shake up the senses, finishing with warm cigar box cedar and vanillan flavors. Brawny, solid tannins send aftershocks down the throat creating a seemingly endless finish. When all is said and done this Petite Sirah leaves its mark of destruction, leaving teeth and glasses stained of its inky dark color

BTG $9.50                                  Retail $25.99

CANDOR ZINFANDEL, LOT 1

Aged 100% on American oak barrels 20% New

Candor Zinfandel is made from a combination of 60 year old vines and exuberant new ones. The wine is blended together across vineyards and vintages and thus reaches real panache with bright berry fruit, silky tannins, toasty spice and a signature zing of acidity.

BTG $ 7.00                                  Retail $ 18.99
